Proof
For those of you that see my daughter's room in it's "normal" state, here is proof that every once in a while it actually is clean.
Go Cougs!!!

Widowed
I think I should be allowed to file for spousal support... you know an actual husband that comes home during the day and supports me.
Seeing my husband for less than two hours a day is not what I call great... especially since he is usually dozing in front of the t.v. for at least an hour of that.
I asked him if after he has there for a while, will it get better... and you know what he had the audacity tell me??? NO... I mean seriously, why not dash all of my hopes with two letters?
As you can tell, the "single-mom" status is not sitting well with me these days...

Scented Playdough Recipe
I've had a couple of people ask me what recipe I used for the scented playdough, so here it is (and in case I ever lose it too):
Kool-Aid Scented Play Dough
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (I use Crisco oil)
2 (1/4 ounce) packages the same flavor kool-aid unsweetened flavored drink mix
1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
5 teaspoons cream of tartar (I used more like 2 tsps and it turned out fine!)
1 In a pot, combine water, oil, Kool-Aid, and salt.
2 Heat and stir until salt dissolves.
3 Add Flour and cream of tartar all at once to above.
4 Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until well mixed and dough forms a ball, (this should only take a couple minutes).
5 Remove from heat once the dough forms into a ball.
6 Cool on a clean baking sheet, kneading the dough as soon as it is cool enough to handle.
7 Cool completely, and let your kids play away!
8 (On occasion, I've mixed in a matching essential oil to enhance the fruity scent if I only have one package of a Kool-aid flavour on hand.) Store this Play Dough in a resealable plastic baggy or plastic container.
9 It should last for a couple months, depending on how often your children play with it.

Ally's Scented Playdough Factory
A couple of weeks ago, Ally received yet another big project for school. This time they had to *make* something to sell to other third graders. They have earned fake money for behaviour, turning homework in, memorizing poems, etc. and will get to spend money at the market.
It took a couple of days of brainstorming, but we eventually came up with the idea to make homemade playdough... but not just any playdough, this is scented playdough. It is scented by koolaid packets, so it doesn't have the nasty salt smell.
So, we've spent a couple of weeks making 5 different colors/flavors and dividing them up into individual packets. We still need to make her poster and the tags that go on each one announcing the flavor and price... it's due Thursday, but we will make it!
But, my kids couldn't stand the fact that they couldn't have the playdough, so we had to take a package of each color to play with...
Then I made a rose and taught Ally how to make them...
(I usually make it with fondant for cakes, but hey, same thing).
So Ally made some roses:
She is a perfectionist and was upset that they didn't look like mine, but I think she did a great job!
