A couple of weeks ago, Ally received yet another big project for school. This time they had to *make* something to sell to other third graders. They have earned fake money for behaviour, turning homework in, memorizing poems, etc. and will get to spend money at the market.
It took a couple of days of brainstorming, but we eventually came up with the idea to make homemade playdough... but not just any playdough, this is scented playdough. It is scented by koolaid packets, so it doesn't have the nasty salt smell.
So, we've spent a couple of weeks making 5 different colors/flavors and dividing them up into individual packets. We still need to make her poster and the tags that go on each one announcing the flavor and price... it's due Thursday, but we will make it!
But, my kids couldn't stand the fact that they couldn't have the playdough, so we had to take a package of each color to play with...
Then I made a rose and taught Ally how to make them...
(I usually make it with fondant for cakes, but hey, same thing).
So Ally made some roses:
She is a perfectionist and was upset that they didn't look like mine, but I think she did a great job!
